THESSALONIKI · 2 NOVEMBER 1940

Days into the Italian invasion, Second Lieutenant Mitralexis intercepted a formation of CANT Z.1007bis bombers over Thessaloniki in his PZL P.24. When his ammunition ran out, he flew his propeller into the tail of a bomber, sending it down. He then landed his crippled fighter in a field and captured the surviving crew. The ramming made him a national legend overnight.

IN GAME · A mission chapter with the full comic sequence: the scramble from Mikra airfield, the intercept, the empty guns, the ramming.

TRIKALA · 15 APRIL 1941

As the German invasion swept south, Flight Lieutenant Mokkas rose almost alone against waves of Ju 87 Stukas raiding Thessaly. He broke up the attack and claimed hits on two dive bombers before escorting Bf 109s shot him down. He was the last Greek pilot to fall in air combat during the campaign.

IN GAME · Defend the Thessalian plain against Stuka waves as escorts close in, told in a twelve-panel painted sequence.

PIRAEUS · 20 APRIL 1941

The South African ace flew Gladiators and Hurricanes over Greece and Albania, running his score to perhaps fifty victories, the highest of any Allied pilot. Sick with fever, he took off anyway on 20 April 1941 to meet a massed raid over Piraeus harbour, and was last seen diving to help a fellow pilot, surrounded by Bf 110s.

IN GAME · The Battle of Athens: hold the harbour skies through three escalating waves.

A NOTE ON HISTORY
